January 11th YouTube finally released a statement in regards of
Logan Paul’s disrespectful video about suicide published on the site.
Logan Paul has since released an
apology video and a letter on Twitter saying that he didn’t do it for views and
just wanted to raise awarness to sucha serious issue, however it didn’t help
his situation at all. It has been taken to twitter to say: “We expect more of the creators who build their community on @YouTube, as we’re sure
you do too. The channel violated our community guidelines, we acted
accordingly, and we are looking at further consequences.” With that said, YouTube
has dropped Logan Paul from Google Preferred, put Paul’s YouTube Red movies on
hold and removed the star from the fourth season the series “Foursome”.
the 31st of December, the 22-year old published a video on YouTube
of his trip to Aokigahara,
a forest in Japan that has been know as the “suicide forest”. Paul stumbled on
a dead body whilst filming a video with a group of friends, however the
youtuber didn’t stop filming, he continued, showing the man’s full body, hands,
only blurring out the face and later on making jokes about the unfortunate
situation. Many people took offense to this, considering that the biggest majority
of Paul’s audience is children under 13 years old.
celebrities took notice of this event and took their opinions to Twitter. On of
them being The TV series “Breaking Bad” star Aaron Paul tweeted: “Dear @LoganPaul, How dare
you! You disgust me. I can’t believe that so many young people look up to you.
So sad. Hopefully this latest video woke them up. You are pure trash. Plain and
simple. Suicide is not a joke. Go rot in hell. Ap”
The young video
blogger also received a strike from the site due to breaking the community
guidelines. If a youtuber receives three strikes, their channel is removed from
the platform, could this mean that Logan Paul’s career is coming to an end?
